BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 2. The total value of Tajikistan’s electricity supplies to Uzbekistan significantly increased in the first quarter of 2022, Trend reports referring to the Customs Service of Tajikistan.
Tajikistan’s total value of electricity exports to Uzbekistan amounted to $7.3 million from January through March 2022, which is an increase of 65.9 percent compared to $4.4 million of the same time period in 2021.
The total volume of Tajikistan's electricity supplies to Uzbekistan reached 367,558 kWh in the first quarter of 2022, which is an increase of 64.2 compared to 223,819 kWh in the same reporting period of last year.
Meanwhile, the governments of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan signed a pact on the export of electricity generated by Tajikistan's Rogun hydroelectric power plant in the summer, according to the Uzbek Ministry of Energy.
