Norway: Committee changes Government's bill on energy

    June 7, 2022 - M-Brain Nordic News

In Norway, the Parliament's Energy and Environment Committee has presented its recommendation to the Government after processing the latter's additional bill on energy. The report includes several changes to the bill, among other things related to the distribution of licences for offshore wind farms and the financing of offshore wind. In particular, the Government's negotiating partner the Left Party (SV) points out that it has been agreed to investigate the establishment of a state-owned electricity company for coordination of peoples' electricity purchases, and investigation of a two-priced system on electricity. The goal is to offer electricity at reasonable prices.
