Finerge announced this Tuesday that it has put into operation the first of 11 wind over-equipment projects it has scheduled for construction this year.
It is the over-equipment of the Arga Wind Farm, located in Caminha, which has a capacity of 2.2MW of a total of 102.8MW that Finerge plans to put into operation in the next 9 months.
With this project, Finerge now has a total installed capacity of about 1.6GW in Portugal and Spain.
"This project in Caminha marks Finerge's return to building its own parks, something the company has not done for 11 years, since 2012. We entered the greenfield, putting into practice an ambitious strategic plan, which is materialized in a portfolio of 1.3GW of project pipelinea" said in a statement Pedro Norton, CEO of Finerge.
Of these, 450MW of this pipeline portfolio of projects is at an advanced stage of licensing and Finerge aims to start construction activities for a large part of these projects as early as next year.
In 2021 Finerge announced the purchase of wind turbines from Vestas, to over-equip the first four farms in a set of wind over-equipment projects.
