Signal Iduna Acquires 650MW Solar Project In Germany

News: Signal Iduna and its financial service unit Hansainvest Real Assets have acquired a 650MW subsidy-free solar project from Moveon Energy in Germany. Called the Witznitz energy park, the solar facility will come up on a former brown coal opencast mine near the city of Leipzig. Moveon Energy will build and manage the facility, which will span around 6.5sq km of area and feature around 1.1mn solar modules. Subject to formal final approval, construction works are scheduled to start in Q222 with operations expected to start by Q223 (Renewables Now).
