    June 9, 2022 - Daily Regional Times

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman Noor Alam Khan on Wednesday expressed fear of country's breakup due to continuous rise in electricity prices.

While chairing the meeting of PAC, Noor Alam said the rest of the world is using cheap electricity resources but in Pakistan we are facing massive hikes in electricity prices.

Taking a dig at the NEPRA chairman, he said 'The recent hikes indicate that your electricity is free.'

On this NEPRA chairman replied, 'My electricity is not free, my own bill of Rs 68,000 has come which is more in terms of my salary.'

Noor Alam Khan said that the economy of the country depends on the wellness of common people's economy, adding that do not put extra burden on the people.
