June 10 (Renewables Now) - Spanish utility Naturgy Energy Group SA (BME:NTGY) inaugurated today a 21.98-MWp solar farm in the region of Castile-La Mancha, central Spain.
The group said it invested EUR 13.2 million (USD 14m) to realise the Canredondo PV project in the namesake municipality. It expects the power plant to generate some 47 GWh of electricity per year.
The solar farm is Naturgy’s first in the province of Guadalajara, where the company is now working to commission three other in the vicinity of its old Jose Cabrera nuclear power plant.
Elsewhere in the Castile-La Mancha region, Naturgy has over 1,000 MW of renewable energy capacity across wind farms, solar plants and small hydroelectric stations.
