Mailam Engineering College Files Patent Application for IoT Enabled Real Time Smart Metering System for Smart Grid

    June 13, 2022 - Indian Patents News

Kolkata, June 13 -- India-based Mailam Engineering College filed patent application for IoT enabled real time smart metering system for smart Grid. The inventors are Dr N Murali Krishnan, Dr S Balasubramaniyan, Dr P Satheesh kumar, Dr A Jeraldine Viji, Dr G Prem Sunder, Dr N Madhanakkumar, A Muthuraman, M Saravanakumar, G G Muthukumar and Dr M Vijayaragavan.

Mailam Engineering College filed the patent application on Feb. 16, 2022. The patent application number is 202241008078 A. The international classification numbers are G06Q0050060000, H02J0013000000, G01D0004000000, H04Q0009000000 and G16Z0099000000.

The abstract of the patent published by the Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trade Marks states: "The demand for energy globally grows, so efforts to prevent waste of energy with appropriate design metering facilities have to be adopted. we using the Smart Grid technology may use a smart meter to check the power use. Equitable energy demand management is necessary to allocate the available resources. In recent years, energy demand management strategies have been used to quantify the energy needs yet to be satisfied accurately. An extensive system shows potential appreciation to perform energy-saving and extra energy services, which are expanded as a capable system for the end-user. The monitoring system in utilities determines the interface of devices with significant benefits. At the same time, the communication with the home often proposes specific structures to deploy a smart meter network for the buyer properly. For the remote monitoring of the metering infrastructure in real-time, an IOT-based platform is established. The viewing of data also occurs on the site, and data loss is checked for remote parameters monitoring."

The Patent was published in the Issue No. 08/2022 of the Patent Office Journal on Feb. 25, 2022.
