India Plans To Launch Tender For 4GW Offshore Wind Projects In 2022

News: India's Ministry of New and Renewable Energy plans to launch a tender in 2022 to lease blocks off the state of Tamil Nadu, which could provide around 4GW of offshore wind capacity. The tender will be followed by two further 4GW sales for capacity off Tamil Nadu and Gujarat, after which the country will auction 5GW per annum for five years until FY2029-2030. Tender for the first 12GW will be conducted on a single stage two envelope model (NS Energy).
