    OG&E issues final RFP for new flexible resource generation facility

      Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company (OG&E), a subsidiary of OGE Energy Corp, this week issued its final Request for Proposals (RFP) from qualified parties to supply flexible resource generation facility(ies) to the company. Following a draft RFP issued by the company in April, the final RFP requires a capacity between 50 and 500 megawatts (MW) of nameplate capacity per bid, and the bid may represent multiple generation facilities at a site to meet the minimum requirement. OG&E requires capacity to be available to satisfy OG&E’s resource adequacy obligations starting no later than May 1, 2027, with a preference for projects in service as early as possible.

      OKLAHOMA CITY, June 10 -- Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company issued the following news release:

      Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company (OG&E), a subsidiary of OGE Energy Corp (Nasdaq: OGE), this week issued its final Request for Proposals (RFP) from qualified parties to supply flexible resource generation facility(ies) to the company. Following a draft RFP issued by the company in April, the final RFP requires a capacity between 50 and 500 megawatts (MW) of nameplate capacity per bid, and the bid may represent multiple generation facilities at a site to meet the minimum requirement.

      OG&E requires capacity to be available to satisfy OG&E’s resource adequacy obligations starting no later than May 1, 2027, with a preference for projects in service as early as possible. Other requirements include:

      * must be located within SPP in Oklahoma or Arkansas, with preference for OG&E’s service territory;

      * must be capable of at least 4 hours of consecutive run time at minimum and maximum capacity, as required by SPP generation capacity accreditation guidance;

      * minimum ability to start multiple times each day within 15 minutes of initiation with a minimum up-time of no more than one hour;

      * maximum downtime between cycles of no more than an hour.

      In addition to bids for any single eligible generation facility technology, combination bids are allowed.

      Notice of intent to bid is due on September 8, 2022, and the deadline to submit a bid is September 15, 2022. The full RFP is available on the Suppliers and Contractors page of the OG&E website under Current Opportunities.
