Terna Plans To Expand Italy-Greece Power Interconnector To 1GW

News: Italy-based Terna plans to invest around EUR750mn (USD782mn) to expand the existing 300km long 500MW Italy-Greece interconnector to 1GW. The scope of work includes the construction of a new 200km-long 500MW extension to extend the existing 400kVdc connection. Work is set to start in 2023, while commercial operations are planned to start in 2030, according to a press release from Terna.
