CEZ to become 100 pct owner of nuclear energy firm Skoda JS

    June 17, 2022 - Czech News Agency

Prague, June 17 (CTK) - Energy group CEZ will become the 100 percent owner of Czech nuclear energy company Skoda JS, thereby also obtaining a higher stake in nuclear research institute UJV Rez, CEZ spokesman Ladislav Kriz told CTK in a press release today.

A few years ago, Skoda JS became part of Russian engineering group OMZ controlled by Gazprombank. As a result, the company is now at risk of sanctions, which has a potential impact on ensuring key supplies for CEZ's nuclear power plants, Kriz said.

CEZ's stake in UJV Rez, which is owned by Skoda JS, will increase from 52.46 percent to 69.85 percent.
