Brazilian State Signs MoU For Up To 7GW Offshore Wind Projects

News: The Government of the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul has signed a memorandum of understanding with Ocean Winds for works on two offshore wind projects with combined capacity of more than 7GW. The projects include the 700MW Marinha de Tramandai project off the North Coast and the Ventos do Sul scheme off the South Coast with a potential capacity of 6.5GW. According to the state government, the offshore projects are estimated to cost BRL100bn (USD19.5bn). The two wind facilities are due to be operational by 2030 (Renewables Now).
