SSE Secures Planning Consent To Build O&M Facility For 800MW Offshore Wind Project In Ireland

News: The Wicklow County Council has granted planning consent to SSE Renewables to build an operations and maintenance (O&M) facility for the 800MW Arklow Bank Offshore Wind Park Phase II project in Ireland. The proposed four-storey O&M facility, estimated to cost EUR2.5bn (USD2.6bn), will come up at the south dock in Arklow Harbour. The facility would also feature a sustainable education centre, a pontoon system, and a designated quayside and berth facilities. Subject to final investment decision, the offshore wind power plant is due to deliver first power by 2028, with completion due in 2029 (Renewables Now).
