Swedish regional energy company Skövde Energi has partnered with power solutions company MVS, installation company Bravida, and car dealers Holmgrens Bil and Toveks Bil in the launch of battery energy storage units for public fast charging of electric cars in the city of Skövde. The units will be installed at various customers, and will have capacities of about 100 to 200 kW. The units will be taken into operation in September 2022 according to plan. Power peaks in the electricity grid can be reduced by around 50% when fast charging for electric vehicles is combined with battery energy storage.
