Norwegian state-owned energy company Statkraft has announced a new strategy for its expansion of renewable energy. The company aims for its solar, onshore wind, and battery storage growth to amount to 4 GW annually by 2030, compared to the previous goal of 2.5 GW to 3 GW in annual growth by 2025. Statkraft states that it plans to have developed up to 30 GW of renewable production capacity by the end of the 2020s, and that an important part of its strategy entails an expansion of Norwegian hydro power. The company also aims to become an important offshore wind player in both Norway and Ireland as well as becoming a leading player within green hydrogen in Norway and Sweden.
