BluEarth Breaks Ground On 145MW Wind Project In Alberta, Canada

News: BluEarth Renewables broke ground to start the construction of a 145MW wind project in the Canadian province of Alberta. The project, called Hand Hills, will be located in Starland County and it would require a capital investment of around CAD250.0mn (USD194.1mn). The power plant would be backed by a CAD145.0mn (USD112.6mn) non-recourse debt financing, including both construction and term debt financing and is expected to serve around 68,000 homes. Shell Energy North America Canada will secure electricity from a 100MW portion of the facility. The power plant is expected to reach commercial operation in early 2023 (Renewables Now).
