Grupo Ecoener to Invest USD17.9 Million in Five Wind Projects in Spain

    July 1, 2022 - Marketline - Deals

      Deal In Brief

Grupo Ecoener SAU, a company that generates renewable energy, has agreed to invest EUR17 million in the construction and development of five wind farms located in the municipality of San Sebastian de la Gomera, Spain. The combined installed capacity of the wind farms is 12 MW. The investment per MW is USD1.4 million

The new wind farms have the capacity to supply renewable energy to almost 11,000 households, which exceeds current demand on the island, and will avoid the emission of more than 23,000 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere, a significant contribution to the total decarbonization of the Canary Islands by 2040

The wind farms will become operational in 2022 and will be equipped with the latest developments with regard to both energy efficiency improvements and environmental protection. In addition, the wind farms will be fitted with Enercon E-82 E4 wind turbines and assembly is scheduled to begin after the foundations are completed.
