Experts express interest in developing cooperation

July 1, 2022 - Uzbekistan National News Agency

The event was organized by the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan to exchange views, strengthen international cooperation in the fuel and energy sector and further integrate Uzbekistan into the energy system of the Central Asian region.

First Deputy Director General of Uzatom Agency Bahrom Mansurov noted the unique advantages of nuclear energy over all other methods of generating electricity.

Head of the Department of Radiation and Nuclear Safety of the State Committee for Industrial Safety Behzod Talipov informed participants about the efforts undertaken by the regulator to lay the foundations for the safe development and functioning of nuclear energy in the country.

According to the Rusatom Energy Projects, the nuclear power plant with the VVER-1200 reactor developed by Russian nuclear scientists is the first generation 3+ nuclear power plant put into operation. The reactor meets all modern international safety and reliability requirements. Rosatom is the only company implementing the serial construction of nuclear power plants around the world. Over the past 15 years, 17 power units in 5 countries have been connected to the grid.

In addition, hydrogen energy has become one of the priority areas of scientific-technical development for Rosatom.

The participants noted the important role of nuclear energy in solving the challenges facing humanity related to the growing demand for electricity and at the same time strict requirements for climate conservation.
