    Vientos Alisios wind power project to generate 2,500 direct jobs

      he first offshore wind farm in the country, Vientos Alisios, which is planned for the Galerazamba area, north of Bolivar, has already advanced 95% of the approvals required for its development, revealed executives of BlueFloat Energy, the promoters of this initiative.

      During a virtual master class for journalists held this Thursday from Spain, more details were revealed about the project, which already has its pre-engineering, environmental impact studies and its connection to the Bolívar substation in Santa Rosa de Lima (Bolívar) defined.       The nominal power of this park is 800 megawatts, it will have 28 self-generators, with fixed technology on the seabed, an offshore electrical substation, and onshore facilities.

      The energy produced in this wind farm could supply 180,000 homes.

      The project is expected to generate 2,500 direct jobs and 2,700 indirect jobs and would be a catalyst for new port infrastructure in the region.

      Fernando Sada and Armando Polití, directors of Blue Float, were in charge of revealing the project's progress.

      Other projects BlueFloat Energy's directors announced that 7 additional projects are planned in Colombia, two of them off the coast of Santa Marta. These are the floating offshore wind farms Bergantín and Goleta, which will have a capacity of 825 megawatts, both with prefeasibility and with permitting advances of 40% and 60%, respectively.
