Gov. Roy Cooper is scheduled to be in Elizabeth City today where he'll address the state's task force on offshore wind energy.
The governor will speak at the NCTowers meeting today at the K.E. White Center, the governor's office said Wednesday evening. Cooper is scheduled to speak at 2 p.m.
NCTowers, or the North Carolina Taskforce for Offshore Wind Economic Resource Strategies, provides advice to the governor and state policymakers about ways to advance offshore wind energy projects. The panel is holding its August business meeting in Elizabeth City.
In addition to a discussion about the Carolina Long Bay & Kitty Hawk offshore wind projects, Kuldeep S. Rawat, dean of ECSU's School of Science, Aviation, Health and Technology, is scheduled to give a presentation on the university's aviation and unmanned aircraft systems program.
