Dominion Energy Secures Approval For 2.6GW Offshore Wind Project In Virgina, US

News: The Virginia State Corporation Commission has approved Dominion Energy's plan to build the 2.6GW Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind project in US waters. The offshore wind plant, estimated to cost USD9.8bn, will come up off the coast of Virginia Beach and is expected to serve around 660,000 homes per annum. The power plant will feature 176 units of Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy's SG 14-222DD turbines for the project. The installation of turbines is planned to start in 2024, while full operations are expected to start by the end of 2026 (Renewables Now).
