August 9 (Renewables Now) - Spanish renewable power retailer and project developer Capital Energy is planning to construct 108 MW of wind farm projects in the region of Castile and Leon, northwestern Spain.
Capital Energy said on Monday the construction of the Pedrecha and San Cristobal projects, each with 54 MW of capacity, will require EUR 140 million (USD 142.8m) in investments.
The development of the two wind parks was unveiled by the Spanish company after it entered into agreements with two town halls in the region's Soria province.
Under the agreements, Capital Energy committed to supporting initiatives important to the communities that will host its wind farms and the associated 400-kV transmission line.
The Pedrecha and the San Cristobal wind farms are to become part of a 148.5-MW wind cluster in the area, Capital Energy added.
