Finland: Maintenance, repairs at TVO's Olkiluoto 3 unit completed

    August 9, 2022 - M-Brain Nordic News

Finnish nuclear power company Teollisuuden Voima (TVO) has completed maintenance and repairs on the turbine of the third unit of its Olkiluoto nuclear plant. The unit's trial operation will continue at 60% capacity, which corresponds to approximately 850 MW of electricity production. During the trial operation, numerous tests lasting a few hours or days are performed on the unit. After the middle of August 2022, the test operation will rise to 80% capacity, when the plant unit will produce electricity with a power of approximately 1,300 MW. Full power tests will be carried out for the first time in September 2022, when the unit will produce 1,600 MW of electricity. The test operation phase will end in December 2022, when the unit will begin normal electricity production.
