City Of Chicago Plans To Procure Electricity From 593MW Double Black Diamond Solar PV Complex In US

News: The City of Chicago has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Constellation Energy to secure output from Swift Current Energy's 593MW solar photovoltaic (PV) complex in the US. Called Double Black Diamond, the solar complex is expected to serve more than 100,000 homes per annum. Construction works on the PV complex are likely to start before the end of 2022, with completion due in 24 months. Initially, the PPA will be effective for a five-year term, starting in 2025 (Renewables Now).
