Rain and wind with cyclone in SC cause landslides, flooding and damage

    August 10, 2022 - CE Noticias Financieras

The heavy rain and windstorms affecting Santa Catarina have caused landslides, flooding of streets, and falling walls in the last few hours. The bad weather is due to the influence of a cyclone that is moving over the sea in the South of the country.

Until this publication there were no records of people injured. Damage was recorded in cities of Greater Florianopolis, South, Valley and North.

In Timbó, for example, firemen were called after a wall fell.

The storm also caused damage to the power grid. According to Celesc, more than 48 thousand consumer units throughout the state were without power around 7am.

?What is the cyclone bomb, a phenomenon that has already hit SC?
