    U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Awards Patent for Forecasting Output Power of Wind Turbine in Wind Farm

      Alexandria, Aug. 10 -- U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has awarded Utopus Insights a patent for forecasting output power of wind turbine in wind farm. Bai Xin Xin, Dong Jin, Du Hui, Rui Xiao Guang, Wang Hai Feng, Yin Wen Jun and Zhang Meng developed the invention. The patent application number is 16/286,500. The International Patent Classification codes are F03D 17/00 (20160101), G06Q 10/04 (20120101) and G01W 1/10 (20060101). Cooperative Patent Classification codes are F03D 17/00 (20160501), F05B 2260/821 (20130101), G01W 1/10 (20130101), Y02A 30/00 (20180101), Y02E 60/00 (20130101), F05B 2260/8211 (20130101), Y02E 10/76 (20130101), F05B 2270/335 (20130101), Y02E 10/72 (20130101) and G06Q 10/04 (20130101).

      According to the abstract released by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office: "A method and apparatus for forecasting output power of wind turbine in a wind farm. The present invention provides a method for forecasting output power of a wind turbine in a wind farm, including: generating a corrected data set based on environmental data collected from at least one sensor in the wind farm; correcting a weather forecasting model by using the corrected data set; obtaining a forecast value of wind information at the wind turbine based on the corrected weather forecasting model; and forecasting the output power of the wind turbine based on the forecast value and a power forecasting model."
