Eesti Energia Starts Preliminary Design And EIA For Hydroelectric Power Plant In Estonia

News: Eesti Energia has started the preliminary design and environmental impact assessment (EIA) for a pumped-storage hydroelectric power plant in Estonia. The proposed plant will come up in the industrial area of the Estonian mine in Ida-Virumaa, with capacity of 225MW. The project will feature the upper reservoir on a tailings structure, while a closed mine will be used as the lower reservoir. The facility is slated for operations in 2026, according to a press release from Eesti Energia.
