Siemens Gamesa to supply 96 wind turbines for a wind farm in India

    August 12, 2022 - CE Noticias Financieras

Siemens Gamesa, through one of its subsidiaries, will supply Azure Power India with 96 wind turbines for a 346 megawatt (MW) wind project located in the state of Karnataka (India).

As the company informed the Spanish National Securities and Exchange Commission (CNMV) this Friday, the supply of turbines is expected to begin during the second quarter of 2023.

Recently, last June, the company announced another contract in that country, this time with the independent producer Vena Energy, to supply 37 wind turbines.

Siemens Gamesa has been present in India since 2009, where it has installed more than 7.5 gigawatts (GW) and has a 40% market share. The company has a blade and nacelle factory there, as well as an operations and maintenance center in Red Hills (Chennai, Tamil Nadu).
