    Energy companies in Pa. are raising prices next month

      The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) is updating both businesses and residents that electricity prices are increasing for some on Friday, Sept. 1, 2022.

      According to WHTM-TV, PUC confirmed half of Pa.’s energy companies are rising prices including PECO Energy as well as the four FirstEnergy companies: West Penn Power, Penn Power, Penelec, and Met-Ed.

      WHTM-TV reported the price changes as:

      Assistance programs, like the utility-run Customer Assistance Programs, are available for consumers in need based on their income. There are also national-level programs like the Emergency Rental Assistance Program. and the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) that also provides assistance.
