News: Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) has signed a SAR361.2mn (USD96.3mn) contract with South Korea-based Hyundai Engineering & Construction for the expansion of the Shoaibah PV substation in Saudi Arabia. The scope of work includes the expansion of an existing 380kV substation to interconnect the future Renewal Energy (Solar) Power Plant at Shouiba area. The selected contractor will perform work on turnkey basis and is responsible for the design, engineering, materials procurement, quality management, factory inspection/testing, transport and delivery to site, installation, construction, site inspection, testing and commissioning works. The project is due to complete in 24 months (Saudi Gulf Projects).
