Angol: 10 vehicles burned during arson attack on wind farm construction site

    August 16, 2022 - CE Noticias Financieras

This Monday afternoon an arson attack took place in the commune of Angol, Araucanía region. The result? Six machines and four trucks destroyed.

It all started at around 7.45 p.m., more precisely at the La Cabaña property, which belongs to Enel and where a wind farm is currently being built.

According to Carabineros, eight unknown individuals arrived there, with their faces covered, aboard a pickup truck. All of them had firearms.

"In a premeditated, artful and cowardly manner, they proceeded to shoot into the air and intimidate three workers who were guarding the construction site," said Commander Alejandro Albán, deputy prefect of the Malleco Prefecture.

He then added that, by order of the Public Prosecutor's Office, "Carabineros, through the OS-9 department and the Criminalistics Laboratory (Labocar)" will take charge of the investigative proceedings, in order to "bring these cowardly criminals before the respective courts".
