Jordan : The Central Bank issues sukuk worth 75 million dinars to the National Electricity

    September 6, 2022 - TendersInfo - News

The Central Bank, as the issue manager for the National Electric Power Company's sukuk, announced the offering of the fourth tranche of the fifth issue, with a value of 75 million dinars. This comes as part of the company's program to issue sukuk for the year 2022, in the form of a "Murabaha contract for the purchase orderer" by auction, for a period of three and a half years, at a murabaha rate of 4.25%.

This value is added to the volume of government borrowing for the benefit of the National Electric Power Company in the current year, as the Central Bank announced three issuances of permits in favor of the company, with a value of 200 million dinars, distributed over 75 million dinars for the third and fifth issues, and 50 million for the fourth issue. With repayment terms ranging from three months to one year.

The Central Bank also issued four tranches for the fifth issue of Murabaha sukuk, with a value of 375 million dinars, as the first, second and third tranches were at one hundred million dinars, while the fourth tranche was at 75 million dinars, with repayment terms of three and a half years for all segments.
