Future energy landscape of Pakistan to be based upon utilization of domestic resources: Dastgir

    September 9, 2022 - Daily Regional Times

Minister for Power Khurram Dastgir has said future energy landscape of Pakistan will be based upon the utilization of domestic resources.

Addressing an event here in Islamabad on Thursday, he said it is our policy that every new electricity generation project in Pakistan is established using domestic resources which include hydel, solar, wind, Thar coal and nuclear.

The Minister said Thar Coal could also be an environment friendly solution to our energy crisis if we use it responsibly with technology.

He said nuclear is an important part of our energy mix saying our Iron Brother China has partnered with us in putting up two of the most modern nuclear energy plants in Karachi which are providing 2200 megawatts of power.

The Minister said China is the most crucial and valuable partner in exploiting our indigenous energy potential.
