AkzoNobel has supplied its coatings to the Hornsea 2, the world's biggest offshore wind farm located approximately 89 km off the coast of the UK. The wind farm features 165 units of 8 MW turbines and is scheduled to become operational by mid-2022. It is capable of generating over 1.3 GW of power. AkzoNobel's Interzone 954 coatings were used to coat the turbines' foundations. Interzone 954 exhibits a unique combination of properties including superior barrier protection, excellent film build, and superb abrasion resistance. The coating is also tolerant to a broad range of chemicals. Original Source: PPCJ, Polymers, Paint, Colour Journal, http://www.polymerspaintcolourjournal.com/.
