September 19 (Renewables Now) - Spanish utility Naturgy Energy Group SA (BME:NTGY) said on Monday that it is currently building 683 MW of wind and solar farms in Spain, with plans to switch them on over the coming months.
It said these projects represent an investment of EUR 528 million (USD 527.4m).
Among the projects under construction there is a group of ten wind and solar farms totalling 228 MW that will commence operation before the end of the year. Naturgy will also start nine new projects in the coming weeks, it said in the press release.
The utility added that it expects to close this fiscal year with 500 MW of new capacity installed, and start 2023 with a target of 1,500 MW of additional renewables.
