Finland: Fortum starts preparing Meri-Pori power plant for commercial use

    September 19, 2022 - M-Brain Nordic News

In Finland, the Energy Authority has announced its decision on the power plants for the next peak-load reserve capacity period. Finnish energy company Fortum's Meri-Pori coal condensing power plant was not selected in the tendering process. Consequently, Fortum will start preparing the power plant for commercial use. The power plant will undergo thorough maintenance during its annual shutdown that will take place from 10 October to 31 October 2022. Maintenance will be performed in an effort to ensure that the Meri-Pori power plant can operate at its full 560-MW capacity if needed. In the upcoming weeks, additional personnel will be recruited for the plant.
