September 28, 2022 - Interfax Russia & CIS Energy Newswire

MOSCOW. Sept 28 (Interfax) - JSC NovaWind, a division of Russian state corporation Rosatom, has signed an agreement with the government of Dagestan that calls for cooperation on projects to build wind farms with combined capacity of up to 315 MW, the wind power company said.

Rosatom established NovaWind in September 2017 to consolidate its wind power assets, including VetroOGK and VetroOGK-2. A division of Gazprombank (MOEX: GZPR) acquired a 49.5% stake in VetroOGK in February 2018, and at the beginning of 2021 the bank acquired a 49.5% stake in VetroOGK-2.

NovaWind has so far launched 720 MW of wind power capacity in Russia. The company plans to build wind farms with combined capacity of about 1.7 GW by 2027.
