    Norochcholai loss to be compensated from Kelanitissa power station

      Sri Lanka, Sept. 28 -- The 270 mega watts lost due to the fault in the third generator of Norochcholai power plant has been obtained from Kelanitissa power plant and private power plant from Embilipitiya .

      A senior official of the Electricity Board stated that after receiving naphtha for power generation at the Kelanitissa plant, 170 Mega watts of electricity has been added to the national grid.

      Also, 100 Mega watts of electricity has been added from Ambilipitiya Ace private power plant.

      Yesterday, the Public Utilities Commission gave permission to the Electricity Board to obtain electricity from private power plants.

      The Public Utilities Commission stated that they had given permission to cut power for two hours and twenty minutes today.

      Meanwhile, Chairman of the Commission Janaka Ratnayake said that the second generator which is currently inactive will be added to the national grid on October 1st and the third generator can be added to the national grid by next Monday.
