Adani Green commissions world’s largest hybrid power plant

    September 29, 2022 - Project Reporter

September 29 -- Adani Green Energy (AGEL) has commissioned 600 MW world’s largest co-located wind-solar hybrid power plant at Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.

The plant has power purchase agreements (PPA) with SECI at Rs 2.69/kWh for 25 years. The hybrid power plant has been implemented with cutting edge technology, consisting of 600 MW solar and around 150 MW wind power plants.

The solar plant uses technologically superior bifacial PV modules and employs Horizontal Single-Axis Tracker (HSAT) technology to capture maximum energy from the sun.

The co-located hybrid power plant shall not only reduce intermittency of RE power, but shall also help the nation in optimal utilisation of transmission network.

Earlier, in May 2022, AGEL had operationalised India’s first hybrid power plant with a capacity of 390 MW at Jaisalmer.

With the commissioning of this 600 MW plant, AGEL now has a total operational generation capacity of around 6.7 GW, including operational hybrid power generation capacity of around one GW, the largest in the world.

The 600 MW hybrid plant is housed in two AGEL subsidiaries viz. Adani Hybrid Energy Jaisalmer Two (AHEJ2L) and Adani Hybrid Energy Jaisalmer Three (AHEJ3L).
