Australian State Unveils Plan For Pumped Hydroelectric Power Plants

News: The Government of the Australian state of Queensland has unveiled the AUD62.0bn (USD40.2bn) Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan, which includes the construction of two pumped hydroelectric power plants and other renewable facilities. The two hydroelectric power plants include a 5GW hydroelectric power plant in Pioneer Valley, which is due to complete by 2035, and a hydroelectric power plant at Borumba Dam, which is due to complete in 2030. The plan also includes a new 'Queensland SuperGrid', which will feature solar, wind, battery and hydrogen generators across the state (NS Energy).
