Vestas unveils orders for 148 MW of wind projects in Finland, Lithuania

    October 3, 2022 - SeeNews Renewables

October 3 (Renewables Now) - Denmark’s Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) on Friday announced turbine supply orders for 148 MW of wind projects in Finland and Lithuania, the second one of which includes engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services.

For the Lithuanian project, Vestas will serve as the EPC and balance-of-plant (BoP) contractor, taking care of all civil and electrical works related to the 74-MW scheme. The wind farm, the name of which was not disclosed, is planned to go online in the third quarter of 2023.

Under the arrangement, Vestas will produce, deliver and install 12 units of its EnVentus platform V162-6.2 MW wind turbines, expecting to put the machines into place in the second quarter of 2023. Additionally, it will service the hardware under a 35-year full maintenance contract (AOM 5000) contract.

In Finland, Vestas will equip a 74-MW wind farm with 12 pieces of the V162-6.2 MW machines and will take care of their operations under a 30-year AOM 5000 agreement. The Danish manufacturer anticipates turbine deliveries and installation works to take place in the second quarter of 2024, while the wind farm is slated for commissioning in the closing quarter of the same year.

Vestas did not specify the names of its clients in the two deals.
