    Finland : Energy ministers outline measures to reduce winter electricity prices

      The EU's energy ministers will meet in an extraordinary energy council on Friday, September 30, 2022. The goal is to reach an agreement between EU countries on the Council's regulation on emergency measures by which the EU intervenes in high electricity prices and reduces the negative effects of energy prices on consumers.

      EU energy ministers have met exceptionally often this year in search of solutions to the energy crisis of the coming winter. The EU presidency, the Czech Republic, has invited the ministers to an extraordinary meeting on September 30. To Brussels. In the fifth extraordinary council of the year, Finland is represented by Minister of Economic Affairs Mika Lintil .

      On 14 September 2022, the Commission issued a proposal for a regulation on energy prices, the aim of which is to lower the price of electricity and reduce the negative effects of high energy prices. At Friday's meeting, the aim is to reach a political consensus among the EU countries on the energy price regulation.
