Mayflower Wind Signs MoU For Construction Of 1.2GW SouthCoast Wind Project In US

News: Mayflower Wind, a 50-50 joint venture (JV) of Shell New Energies and Ocean Winds North America, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Building Trades Unions and the United Brotherhood of Carpenters for the onshore and offshore construction work for its 1.2GW SouthCoast wind project off the coast of Massachusetts, US. The JV is developing an offshore wind lease area that can supply 2.4GW of clean energy. The SouthCoast project will be connected to the electric grid at Brayton Point, Somerset. The first 1.2GW of power is expected to be delivered by the end of 2030, as per Mayflower Wind.
