November 18 (Renewables Now) - Spanish renewables pure-player Acciona Energia (BME:ANE) generated 14,530 GWh of electricity from its consolidated capacity around the world during the first nine months of 2022, the company said in its latest update.
Global power production was lower by 0.4% year-on-year mainly due to a 4% drop in output in Spain where wind and especially hydro resources were low. Outside of Spain, Acciona Energia’s consolidated power plants produced 7,776 GWh, up by 2.9% compared to the January-September period last year. Despite higher production levels, the company still encountered lower resources and curtailment in some of its international markets, it said.
At the end of September, Acciona Energia had 11,431 MW of total installed capacity around the world, up 2% on the year, and 9,463 MW of consolidated capacity, 3.5% more compared to the same period of 2021.
Projects that are currently under construction will bring an additional 2,392 MW. Among those are the 923-MW MacIntyre wind farm project in Australia and close to 1,300 MW of solar PV projects in the US.
