November 21 (Renewables Now) - Peru produced 326 GWh of electricity from non-conventional renewables in October, up by 3% year-on-year, the Peruvian ministry of energy and mining said in its latest report on the power sector.
The non-conventional renewables, which in Peru are wind, solar and bioenergy sources, achieved a combined share of 6.4% in the nation’s total electricity production in October, about as much as they reached in the same period last year, according to the report.
In September, the renewables share was 6.7%.
Peru’s total electricity production rose by 4.2% year-on-year to 5,102 GWh.
