SOCHI, November 22. /TASS/. Rosatom is discussing the use of small nuclear power plants (SNPP), including floating NPPs, with a number of African states, President of Rusatom Overseas (part of Rosatom state corporation) Yevgeny Pakermanov said at the Atomexpo-2022 forum on Tuesday.
"We support [the course] on holding a dialogue with our African colleagues. As power supply systems in Africa are not so developed as on the European continent, for African states SNPP projects is the best solution, and they will be demanded to the maximum. We continue the work with Ruanda, Nigeria and other countries of the region. A floating NPP may be very promising in this region, and we are also discussing the use of FNHPP (floating nuclear heat and power plant - TASS) with colleagues from a number of countries in the African region. I think we will reach the stage of particular agreements shortly," he said. --0--tre
