United States-based energy management company CPower Energy Management has partnered with Consumers Energy, a subsidiary of US-based utility company, CMS Energy.
The contract has been signed to deliver grid services across Consumers Energy's Michigan service territory. The collaboration is intended to allow big-box retailers, healthcare, manufacturing, education and other commercial and industrial organisations in Consumers Energy's service territory to have an additional avenue to participate in Consumers Energy's demand response program, making them eligible to earn money back on their bill by conserving energy when demand peaks.
Mathew Sachs, senior vice president, Strategy and Business Development, CPower, said, 'Dispatching demand response is a reliable and efficient way to address supercritical peaks and other grid resource needs. Organisations that participate in demand response receive monetary value out of their investments, and the community at large also benefits from a reliable grid. We're proud to work with Consumers Energy to help its customers unlock the full value of their DERs, as the utility is focused on a flexible and clean energy transformation.'
