"Currently, the ministry is conducting 11 proceedings for issuing permits for the [location of] offshore wind farms, reflecting 11 sites drafted on the spatial plan for the sea areas," Grobarczyk said. "In total, 132 motions for locations for the offshore wind farms have been submitted to the ministry."
Announcing the results of the first five proceedings "is foreseen at the turn of 2022 and 2023," the official noted, while settlement of the remaining six proceedings, which are now being consulted between the relevant institutions, "is expected in May next year."
Potentially as much as ca. 11 GW in wind capacity could be located on the 11 proceeded sites.
