EH Bildu has presented this Saturday in Bilbao its document & energetics. For an ecosocial transformation in Euskal Herria& in which they allude to wind farms and say that "it will be necessary to have wind power generation plants of a certain size to achieve the objectives proposed in this strategy".
The text, presented by its leader, Arnaldo Otegi, who has been accompanied by the Basque parliamentarian and expert in this area, Mikel Otero, points out that wind energy "is one of the key technologies in the energy transition" that he considers necessary. He estimates that the generation objective of this technology for 2045 is 12,500 GHh/year, and for this "4,000 MW of wind power installed in the Basque Country" are needed.
These reflections come at a time when EH Bildu is open to be flexible with the projects of two new wind farms in Gipuzkoa of the Norwegian public company Statkraft, which affect municipalities under its domain as Azpeitia, Errezil, Zestoa or Aramaio, with some neighborhood opposition. In this sense, the document talks about "fitting the facilities in suitable places" and excluding "environmentally sensitive areas", and doing this process "with the people".
