Danish Energy company Biocirc has announced that in order to obtain an approval for its planned investment in a major energy island with wind turbines, biogas plants and solar cells in a Natura2000 area Viborg Municipality, the company has made agreements with farmers to change crops on their fields to secure the survival of a certain type of goose. The plan with the energy island is to establish 19 giant wind turbines up to 180 metres, a brand new biogas plant and one of Europe's largest solar parks near Tjele Langsø on a 700-hectare area. Biorcirc is a joint venture between renewable energy developer European Energy and asset manager Maigaard & Molbech.
